FIELD: processes and equipment for electrolytic treatment of surface of metals and alloys by oxidizing it in order to enhance their wear- and corrosion resistance, thermal strength, possibly application of decorative and electrically insulation coatings in machine engineering, aviation, chemical industry branches, in medicine, at restoration of parts by strengthening.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing oxidized part into bath-electrolyzer containing agitated electrolyte and treating by micro-arc oxidizing. Electrolyte is agitated by means of agitating electrode at rate 0.8 -1 m/s. Apparatus includes electrodes while using oxidized part as one of electrodes, power source, bath-electrolyzer, drive unit of electrode. Second electrode is in the form of agitator having rotary plate type louvers.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of micro-arc oxidizing of surfaces of parts of different configuration and size due to possibility for controlling intensity of electrolyte agitation and oxidizing modes.
