SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of rigidly mounting blank in attachment of machine tool; imparting to honing head (having body with radial grooves for arranging bar holder) rotation and reciprocation motion and imparting to bars radial motion; using bar holder in the form of elastic cylindrical envelope with radial grooves; securing diamond-abrasive bars to protrusions of generatrix of said envelope in metallic plates; rigidly joining honing head with spindle of machine tool and driving head by supplying compressed air into elastic envelope through axial opening of head body and central opening in end of envelope.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and quality of intensified honing process due to varying pressure of compressed air, possibility of smoothing shocks, suppressing self-oscillations, automatic orientation of bars due to their self-aligning.
