FIELD: machine engineering, possibly honing of inner surfaces of revolution with constant and also with variable diameters along length of opening.
SUBSTANCE: honing head includes body with radial grooves in which bar holder is arranged. Bar holder is in the form of elastic cylindrical envelope with radial grooves. Diamond-abrasive bars are secured to protrusions of envelope on its generatrix in metallic plates. Honing head is driven to operation by supplying compressed air to elastic envelope through axial opening of body and central opening in end of envelope.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and quality of intensified honing process due to changing pressure of compressed air, possibility for smoothing shocks, suppressing self-oscillations and automatic orientation of bars due to their self-aligning.
