FIELD: nuclear power engineering; top shields of liquid-metal cooled nuclear reactors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed top shield has stationary part with adjustable plugs of which one, small plug, is provided with channel and disposed eccentrically on large plug. Installed on small plug above channel is gate valve that has body with top and bottom holes and shutoff element. Body holes are disposed coaxially with respect to channel; shut-off element is installed for shutting off upper hole that accommodates supporting ring designed for rotation and fastening refueling mechanism or instrumentation.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of shield due to use of removable equipment.
