FIELD: nuclear engineering; liquid-metal cooled reactors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed nuclear-reactor top shield has stationary part provided with hole accommodating large rotary plug installed in a spaced relation; this plug has hole accommodating small rotary plug installed in a spaced relation. Large and small rotary plugs are provided with flanges and circular steps are made on stationary part under flange of large plug and under that of small plug. Small rotary plug is secured on large rotary plug and the latter is held in position on stationary part by means of support-rotating unit made in the form of ball bearings fitted with studs; their inner rings are mounted on flanges of both plugs and outer ones, on stationary part and on large plug at small plug end. Ball-bearing race of outer ring is vertically shifted downwards.
EFFECT: ability of replacing and repairing support-rotating units without removing small and large rotary plugs from stationary part.
