SUBSTANCE: proposed femtosecond pulse generator is used to generate ultrashort (10-13 - 10-15) photon pulses. Newly introduced in active medium resonator that has nontransmitting flat mirror, semitransparent flat mirror, focusing system of concave mirrors, and dispersion corrector of two prisms spaced apart through distance d are first and second optically intercoupled auxiliary nontransmitting mirrors. First auxiliary mirror is disposed at distance L > d from nontransmitting flat mirror second auxiliary mirror is optically coupled with semitransparent flat mirror. Nontransmitting flat mirror is tilted through small angle α chosen from interval l' < α < 60' relative to vertical plane perpendicular to incidence plane of beam; first auxiliary mirror is shifted in vertical plane, for instance, downwards relative to level of other mirrors, by Ltgα.
EFFECT: reduced cost, facilitated adjustment and tuning, enhanced operating stability of generator.
