FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed car retarder contains load and brake hydraulic cylinders, frame-base, levers, carrying brake beams with tires. Brake beams with tires are arranged along brake section of rail track. Load hydraulic cylinders are coupled with brake hydraulic cylinder mechanically connected with said levers. Brake section of rail tracks is mounted on movable platform interacting with load hydraulic cylinders. Movable platform is connected at ends by hinge members in form of eyes with frame-base to form parallelogram mechanism and is limited from cross displacements by stops in form of pedestals installed on frame-base.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of car retarder and safety in operation.
