FIELD: mechanical engineering; railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for surface treatment of complex profile long-cut articles, particularly, railway and industrial track rails designed for heavy vehicles. According to invention, sources of highly concentrated energy are made in form of electric discharges consisting of dielectric tubes and metal working tips electrically connected with MINUS terminal of supply and control unit and grouped in form of combs in dielectric housing of electric discharge units mounted on metal chassis of carriages between current carrying rolls under vehicle frame at both sides. One of housings of electric discharge units is secured on vertical carriage, and the other, on horizontal carriage, chassis of both carriages being-connected to each other. Chassis of vertical carriages are hinge-suspended from vehicle frame on spring loaded links, chassis of horizontal carriages are hinge-interconnected by horizontal spring-loaded struts, and chassis of all carriages are electrically connected with PLUS terminal of supply unit. Tubes in housing of electric discharge units are connected by dielectric pipeline with working medium flow rate regulator connected by pipeline with working medium reservoir. Working tips are made for local separation and pointing at worn-out sections of upper and side surfaces of rail heads by extending from electric discharge units into working position to required length. Invention is aimed at reduction of power consumption, increase of hardness, plasticity, strength and wear resistance of contact surface of rails in process of repair of rail tracks by acting onto rail surface with high voltage direct current electric discharges through active technological dielectric medium.
