GUIDE MEMBER FOR OPERATING WITH EXTENSION WIRES USABLE WITH CANNULATED DRILL AND METHOD FOR MAKING FEMORAL NECK OSTEOSYNTHESIS USING THE GUIDING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2254091 C2

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device has body and bushing for receiving wires. The device body is manufactured as right-angled trapezium having a canal for receiving cannulated drill and a canal having bushing for receiving wires. All canals are parallel to each other and have fastening screws. The canal for receiving cannulated drill is outer one. The bushing has a canal for receiving wire and sharp tip. Method involves introducing a wire through the neck into the femur head center under optoelectronic transducer control using the guide member. Canal for receiving the first screw is formed along the first wire using cannulated drill. The guide member body is set on it without removing drill. Place is chosen for introducing the second wire by rotating device body about drill axis. Bushing is mounted in one of body canals and moved until it reaches bone and fixed with fastening screw. The second wire is introduced through bushing canal. Place is chosen in the like way for introducing wire by rotating device body and setting bushing in device body canal and the third wire is introduced. The device body is taken away, the drill and wire is removed. The first non-cannulated screw is introduced into earlier produced canal in femur neck and head. Canals for introducing the second and the third wire are formed in turn using cannulated drill. Non-cannulated screws are introduced in turn into each of the canals after having withdrawn wires.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; manufacturing several holes in femoral neck in parallel to each other for introducing osteosynthesis screws.
