FIELD: welding plastics; manufacture of parts by welding thin blanks by means of electrically heated tool in form of posistor welder.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes cutting-out of lower and upper blanks, temporary protective gasket extending beyond expected seam which is made from transparent colorless film, elastic film and gasket made from elastic flat material. Gasket nonwettable with soften blanks, lower and upper blanks and temporary protective blank are laid in succession. Then, working surface of posistor welder runner is moved at pressure over gasket; working surface of runner is heated to temperature close to upper limit of blank softening, with longer side forward. Working surface of welder runner is moved at pressure sufficient for airless conjugation of sections being welded together at rate ensuring fusion of softened surfaces to be welded together leaving weld seam behind working surface of welder runner which is cooled down. Quality of seam is checked visually. In case of spots, procedure is repeated at greater pressure and lower rate of motion of welder runner. Proposed method is used for making various parts: multi-layer parts, thickened parts, parts with curvilinear surfaces, etc.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of welding blanks of great area and obtaining parts of high thickness and strength.
