SUBSTANCE: method involves picking up sun-dried grass from rolls; compacting and forming rolls; binding with twine; additionally compacting each roll by sucking out air through hermetically sealing hood put thereon; removing hermetically sealing hood and covering roll with film so as to form casing; repeatedly sucking out air; binding compacted roll with tightening belt and putting in stack for storage.

EFFECT: increased density of compacted rolls and reduced feed loss.
