FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. Method of preparation and storage of haylage includes mowing and drying herbal mixtures based on legumes to a moisture content of 50–55 % of the weight. Dried mass is picked up by a baler, crushed and pressed with the introduction of preservative in rectangular bales. Compressed bales are tied up with a string and delivered to a storage place on a ground isolated from the ground where bales are placed in blocks. Number of bales in the block corresponds to the daily rate of excavation. Each unit is isolated from subsequent film. Entire stack of blocks is completely covered with a heat shrinkable film, which is treated with hot air for gluing and shrinking. Sides of the stack are reinforced with gratings, and an easily removable canopy is placed on top.
EFFECT: method provides a reduction in the cost of feed.
