FIELD: electrostatic spraying apparatus, particularly for ferrous metallurgy for flat bar production and for applying protective coatings on strip bar surface.
SUBSTANCE: electrostatic device comprises spraying head connected to high-voltage source and provided with nozzle having slot-like orifice and channel communicating thereto. The channel extends over the full nozzle width. Device also has means for supplying liquid to slot-like orifice. The channel is defined by two opposing grooves and spaced a distance equal to 10-90 slot-like orifice dimensions from nozzle edges. Depth of each groove adjoining corresponding nozzle orifice forming above groove is equal to 1-4 groove dimensions. Channel walls define arches with 200-500 m-1 curvature.
EFFECT: increased uniformity of oil outflow across nozzle width, reduced oil consumption, increased quality of oil application, decreased cost of the strip due to reduction of oiling defects, increased operational reliability due to elimination of nozzle clogging up and decreased lost time due to reduction of nozzle cleaning and adjustment time.
