FIELD: polymeric materials production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rewinding of polyethylene film from one roll to the other preset length of wound-on material. Proposed rewinder has bed frame on which holder of winding-off material roll is mounted, drive shaft with at least two drive friction belts and their tension rollers, winding-on drum, electric drive coupled drive shaft and winding-on drum, magazine for empty spools, mechanism to feed spools and remove measured ready rolls and cutter for cross cutting of roll materials , and pneumatic main line. Drive shaft is provided with brake unit made in form of friction solid of revolution installed on drive shaft, and at least one pair of brake shoes arranged at different sides from friction solid of revolution and pointed to each other, and drive of shoes installed in support secured on bed frame. Friction solid of revolution of brake unit can be made in form of flat friction disk, and brake shoes are provided with friction plates. Invention provides reduction of time required for complete stopping of device rotating members and moving roll material after switching off electric drive to provide cross cutting of roll material wound on spool owing to forced braking of rotating members of device by brake unit of drive shaft.

EFFECT: reduced operating time of each cycle of device.
