FIELD: antenna engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for optimizing single-pulse antenna arrays using joint beam generation depends on weighing signals received by each radiator with aid of weighting coefficients; separation of signals into two channels; addition of signals arriving from like outputs of dividers with increasing and decreasing phase shifts affording deviation of each beam through angle +ΔΘ followed by formation of sum and difference directivity patterns and accordingly finding of weighting coefficients as main vector of hermitian-shape beams corresponding to maximal characteristic number of beams whose determination involves use of information about direction to signal source and about distribution of noise sources; chosen as first and second hermitian shapes of beam are, respectively, signal power in sum channel and total noise power in beams of single-pulse group; in this case complex weighting coefficients of N-2M part of single-pulse array antennas, where N is total number of array antennas and 2M is number of antennas having independent complex weighting coefficients, are assumed to equal product of source weighting coefficients affording positioning of equisignal direction to signal source by complex weighting coefficient common for these antennas, whereupon complex weighting coefficients of all antennas are standardized.
EFFECT: optimized control of complex weighting devices in antenna array channels using maximum of signal-to-noise ratio + noise as criterion.
