FIELD: determining content of various materials being analyzed, especially glucose.
SUBSTANCE: electrochemical test strip and relevant method are used to identify analyzed material, such as glucose, in physiological sample, for instance in blood. Test strips have reaction area confined in opposing metal electrodes which are separated by thin layer. Metal surface of at least one of electrodes is modified by homogeneous modifying surface layer made of self-gathering linear molecules having first sulfhydryl end group and second sulfonate end group separated by short-chain alkyl linking group; some alternatives prefer 2-metrcaptoethanesulfone acid or its salt. A set is also proposed for identifying analyzed material in physiological sample that includes above-described electrochemical strips.
EFFECT: enhanced safety in storage, reduced noise during measurements, and reduced congestion time.
