FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: device for determining concentration of reduced form or oxidized form of reduction-oxidation substance in liquid sample contains hollow electrochemical cell, having working electrode and counter-electrode or comparison counter-electrode, while working electrode is divided from counter-electrode or comparison counter-electrode by distance of not less than 500 micrometers; means for applying a difference of electric potentials between electrodes; means for electrochemical determining of concentration of reduced form or oxidized form of oxidation-reduction substance in liquid sample. Means for electro-chemical determining of concentration of reduced form of oxidized form contains means for determining change of current in time after applying difference of electric potentials and before achieving stabilized current; means for estimating value of stabilized current; and means for producing, on basis of change of current in time and value of stabilized current, of value being the coefficient of concentration of reduced form of oxidized form of oxidation-reduction substance. Also a method is proposed for determining concentration of reduced form or oxidized form of oxidation-reduction substance in liquid sample.
