BLOCKAGE BREAKING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: ice-breaking technique; breaking blockages for preventing water flood in rivers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes piercing anchor and cable. Piercing anchor possesses positive buoyancy. Secured to upper part of piercing anchor by means of cable is structure in form of opening umbrella with dome made from elastic material which is located above ice blockage; dome is strengthened by spring-loaded spokes; stiffness of springs is so selected that umbrella should open by their elasticity at no tension in cable when it freely lies on ice. Device is placed on blockage by means of helicopter.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of blockage breaking due to use of wind energy.
