FIELD: operations preventing ice jamming in given section of river. SUBSTANCE: preventive operations lies in erection of artificial congestion upstream of river relative to given congestion-hazardous section. Artificial congestion is formed by means of installation of facilities in the form of floating structures under ice. Artificial congestion controls ice release in point of its position by way of repeated formation and subsequent destruction with periodicity sufficient to ensure congestion-free ice-carrying capacity of river-bed in given section. EFFECT: more effective prevention of congestion formation and destructive floods in area of congestion. 3 cl, 2 dwg
