METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE PROGRESS OF ACQUIRED MYOPIA Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2257137 C1

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with ophthalmological trials to choose the tactics for therapy and prophylaxis of blindness in case of myopia. One should detect ocular refraction, accommodation reserves, the shape of an eyeball, the state of ocular membranes in the morning. Additionally, one should detect linear circulatory rate (LCR) and resistance index (Ri) in orbital vessels, the caliber of retinal vessels, the level of foveolar and total light sensitivity in the central vision field, the level of constant potentials (CPL) of cerebral cortex. At decreased foveolar sensitivity by 20% and more, at decreased caliber of arteriolae in central retinal artery (CRA) by more than 10%, at decreased LCR in CRA by more than 20%, in posterior short ciliary arteries (PSCA) - by more than 40%, at increased Ri value by 20% and more against the age standard in combination with decreased level of constant cerebral potential in occipital lead by more than 50% one should diagnose progressing character of acquired myopia.

EFFECT: higher reliability of diagnostics.
