FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of curing intracavitary infections, particularly, abscesses, and to devices for intracativary draining and irradiation of infection focus. Proposed method includes determination of spectrum of microorganisms in population in cavity, sizing of main infecting microorganisms in population, selection of wavelength of ultraviolet light, draining of caving and irradiation of cavity with ultraviolet light. Wavelength is chosen to provide radiation letal for infectious microorganisms. Device contains catheter with fiber optical waveguide to carry ultraviolet light, solid-state pulsing laser and drain system.
EFFECT: reduced risk of damaging of surrounding tissues.
