FIELD: wind power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wind-driven electric plants with vertical axle of rotation and it can be used for accumulating electric energy. Proposed plant has impeller enclosed in streamlined casing, preferably of ellipsoid shape. Axis of casing coincides with axis of impeller. Casing is made open from working side of impeller and is balanced by streamlined counterweight. Casing is furnished with ribs providing positioning of impeller working side in direction of wind blowing. Ribs are balanced by streamlined counterweight, and impeller blades are made flat, cup-like or concave, or combination of these forms.
EFFECT: reduced drag, increased efficiency of plant, reduced load on shaft and simplified design of impeller (windwheel).
