FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: proposed direct-current plasmarc furnace has lined jacket, housing and lifting non-swinging arch mounted on posts and two electrodes connected with supply source. Post of arch is made telescopic, being combing with posts of housing. It is made in form of two vertical hydraulic cylinders arranged at diametrically opposite sides of housing. Rods of hydraulic cylinders are connected with side walls of arch.

EFFECT: improved resistance of lining, reduced heat losses.
