FIELD: coke-free metallurgy, namely production of continuously cast blank by reducing metals from metal containing oxide raw material by means of gaseous and dispersed reducing agents in plasma-chemical reactors.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily introducing partially reduced raw ore material with reducing agent to electric-arc furnace, through cavity arranged outside working electrode, onto surface of melt ore bath; discharging gaseous reaction products through cavity of working electrode and using them for preliminary reduction; compensating consumption of working electrode without interrupting process; in zone of electric arc burning creating axial magnetic field promoting uniform heating and reduction of charge while preventing fine particles discharging in such field by means of plasma; collecting ready product while crystallizing received metal and discharging it in the form of blank suitable for further processing.

EFFECT: lowered specific consumption of material of working electrode, possibility for using any gaseous reducing agent without hazard of clogging its inlet duct with coke, lowered consumption of reducing agent.
