FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to protect working surface of casting mold during centrifugal casting of steels and alloys. Dry components/binder mixture is applied on working surface of mold preheated to 150°C, said dry components containing (wt % in total mixture): quartzite 5-6, tube aluminizing production waste 3-4, magnesium oxide 14-15, calcium oxide 3-4, iron oxide 3-4, silicon carbide 4-6, graphite 2-3, and zirconium dioxide 8-9. Binder, which is polyvinylacetate aqueous dispersion, provides formation of continuous, even, and strong coating. Protective and separating coating is characterized by high heat-insulation properties, melting temperature superior to temperature of molten metal by at least 30%, eliminates welding of metal to mold surface and formation of burning-on on castings.
EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of coating.
