METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF INCINERATOR COMBUSTION RESIDUE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: incinerator combustion residue treatment.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method intended for treating residue of fuel combustion including that from incinerators where fuel is burned on fire grate involves raising of fuel combustion residue temperature by adequate control of combustion process conducted so that combustion residue caking and/or melting takes place in top bed of fuel within main combustion zone to produce solid slag whose fraction amounts to 25 - 75% of combustion residue. Combustion residue formed in the process is fully quenched in wet slag-disposal device and discharged therefrom. Damp combustion residue leaving the slag-disposal device is first separated by means of mechanical separation into main and additional fractions, whereupon main fraction mainly containing large particles and riddlings is rinsed with water taken from slag-disposal device. Wash water carrying smaller particles caught in the course of washing is conveyed to wet slag-disposal device.

EFFECT: enhanced stability of combustion process, facilitated separation of slag suited to reuse.
