FIELD: power engineering; connecting and repairing conductors on overhead power transmission lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed clamp is, essentially, wedge-type structure built of two sleeves joined together by means of studs having left-hand thread on one end and right-hand one, on other end. Wedge-type ferrules are inserted in sleeves and provide for clamping conductors being connected through conical wedges. Studs function as conducting members during connection of destroyed conductors on overhead power transmission line. Newly developed clamp has passed mechanical and electrical tests and is recommended for mass production and for use in erection and servicing of overhead power transmission lines.
EFFECT: enhanced mechanical strength of joints and provision for low-resistance contact between conductors being connected.
