FIELD: electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering, and in particular to methods for increasing the strength of sealing wires and their structural elements: cores, conductive layers, and steel ropes in pressed fittings used on overhead power lines. Method consists in applying a layer of abrasive to its surface in contact with a wire and its structural elements or a steel cable, or applying a layer of abrasive directly to the surface of a wire or steel rope during installation of the pressed reinforcement. Grain size of the abrasive is determined in the range from 2 microns to 3 mm. Before applying the abrasive, a layer of glue or other adhesive material or a layer of liquid is applied to the surface of the pressed fittings, wire, its structural elements or steel rope.
EFFECT: proposed method allows to significantly increase the strength of the sealing wire, its structural elements or steel rope and significantly reduce the length of the crimping compression fittings.
