FIELD: railway signaling and communication; traffic control.
SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, ac signal is supplied to rail line at one end and at other end current value of signal is compared with threshold section occupied and clear values. If section occupied threshold value exceeds current value of signal, section is considered occupied, and if current signal value exceeds clear threshold value, section is considered clear. Section occupied and clear threshold voltages which indicate state of ballast are determined through reference voltage which is equal to current voltage across receiver when track section is clear at moment when train enters adjacent track section and other adjacent section is clear. Voltage across receiver at applied standard shunt determined with due account of ballast resistance is taken as section occupied threshold voltage. Section clear threshold voltage is determined by multiplying section occupied threshold voltage by safety factor which takes into account fluctuations of supply source voltage, interference and other factors.
EFFECT: improved reliability of checking state of track sections.
