FIELD: railway transport; signaling and communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for interval control of traffic. According to proposed method, track generator and receiver are connected in turn each rail line of track section, and voltage of receiving end and current of supply end of each rail line are noted. Track section is considered occupied when current of supply source connected to input end exceeds threshold value which corresponds to current of supply source at application of standard shunt to said end when ballast is dry. Track section is considered clear when voltage of receiving end and current of supply end reach corresponding track section clear threshold values. These values for each of ballast resistances (o.02, 0.03, 0.04 ... 100 Ohm-km) are determined by application of shunt at a distance of protected section of (10-50m) and measuring current value of supply source connected at output end of rail line and voltage at input of receiver connected at other end.
EFFECT: improved reliability of checking condition of track sections and safety of traffic.
