FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly manufacture of strips in continuous wide-strip cold rolling mills.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of additional measuring in each stand at rolling process roughness degree of rolling roll barrel, diameters of barrels of rolling and backup rolls, length of backup roll barrel, distance between vertical axial planes of rolling and backup rolls, diameter of backup sleeve-insert of backup roll; taking into account known parameters such as density of backup roll material, viscosity of cutting fluid at 50°C, friction factor in backup roll set and with use of mathematical model of deformation region determining force and structure parameters, namely absolute and percentage reduction values, friction factor, metal resistance against plastic deformation, length values of deformation regions and other values; then calculating normalized parameters. At rolling process back tension and rolling effort in i-stand is sustained while taking into account predetermined adjustment technological parameters. If necessary inter-stand tension values and local percentage reduction values are controlled. Rolling mill is speeded up at acceleration ap = 1.15 - 1.25m/s2. Method of controlling rolling process while taking into account dynamics of change of horizontal forces acting upon rolling roll at rolling process allows to correct beforehand manufacturing modes having trend for vibration occurring in rolling stands and therefore to provide stable rolling process.

EFFECT: enhanced stability of rolling process.
