SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling and can be used for cold rolling of strips on continuous broadband mills. The method includes the compression of the strip in several passes, the implementation in each interstand space of the accompanying control of the rolling parameters by continuous measurement in real time of the thickness and width of the rolled strip, the speed of the strip and the rotation of the working rolls, volumes of the strip per second and the control of the modes of compression and tension of the strip with the maintenance of a given tension difference of the strip ΔТ=Т₀–Т₁ in front of the stand T₀ and behind the stand T₁ with the regulation of the said tension difference ΔТ of the strip from the condition to maintain inequality, based on the thickness of the strip at the entrance and exit of the stand, the speeds of the strip movement in front and behind the stand, the compression of the strip, the width of the strip at the exit of the stand and the density of the strip material.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to increase the stability and quality of the cold rolling process.
