FIELD: power conversion engineering; controlling supply voltage and frequency of induction motors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed frequency converter has switches assembled in two groups of three parallel-connected pairs of series-connected switches, the latter being, respectively, connected to inputs and outputs of frequency converter. Newly introduced in frequency converter are selector, timer, and transformer, and its switches are of two-way design. Selector inputs are connected to inputs of frequency converter and outputs, to control inputs of first switch group and to some inputs of timer whose other inputs are connected to frequency converter inputs and outputs, to control inputs of second switch group. Primary and secondary transformer windings are connected in parallel with common leads of switch pairs.
EFFECT: electric isolation capability and enlarged output voltage control range.
