FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: surfaces of the friction rings are provided with ring grooves of semicircular or noncircular cross-section so that when assembling a toroidal space of circular or noncircular cross-section is defined which receives hollow toroidal ring of circular or noncircular cross-section cut over the outer surface along the ring axis. The openings that connect the space of the ring with the ring groove of the rotating friction ring to discharge the fluid to be sealed are made in the side of the ring along its ring axis from the side of the rotating friction ring. The outer size of the cross-section of the toroidal ring of circular or noncircular cross-section cut along the ring axis is larger than that of the space.
EFFECT: reduced leakage.
