FIELD: commercial fishery.
SUBSTANCE: method and device can be used at research and development and fishery ships for estimation of fish stock. Reflective characteristics of fish are measured by means of hydro-acoustic measurement equipment. Sizes, spatial position and number of fish are determined independently from video signals of stereo television equipment while simultaneous hydro-acoustic sound recording and video review of parts of water medium is performed from one single point. Video images of fish and fish schools are selected and stored which video images correspond to moments of reflection of maximal echo-signals when signals cross fish or fish schools. Stored sequences of maximal echo-signals are corrected while taking results of processing of selected video images into account. Selected sequences of video images of maximal video signals from fish and fish schools are selected separately and stored. Device for realization of the method has hydro-acoustic and video sections, acoustic and video data registration, processing and store unit, selective sampling and storage of maximal echo-signals units and video image intermediate store unit.
EFFECT: improved precision; improved truth of data.
