FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: acoustic reflector has a shell placed around a solid core. The shell is adapted to transmit acoustic waves incident thereon into the core. Within the core the acoustic waves are focused and as a result of subsequent reflection from the opposite side of the shell, form a reflected acoustic wave. The shell has at least two separate transmission windows such that acoustic waves incident thereon follow separate paths within the core before being re-radiated and as a result of constructive combination of corresponding reflected output acoustic signals, an amplified output acoustic signal is formed at one or more defined frequencies.
EFFECT: amplification of a reflected output acoustic signal.
