FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes intake of air into cylinder, compression of air, injection of fuel at second half of compression stroke, compression ignition of fuel, its combustion, expansion and discharge of combustion products. Water preliminarily heated by exhaust products is injected into burning fuel, mass of injected water being 20-25% of cyclic delivery of fuel.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of fuel of internal combustion engine.
