FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: engine operating cycle is performed by air supply to the cylinder, its compression, fuel injection to above-piston space in the form of two diverse portions as to time, the first one to upper dead point, and the second one - not earlier than upper dead point, further charge combustion, expansion and release of combustion products. At that, combustion degree equal to 25-30 is provided; the first fuel portion is injected during the ignition delay period in quantity of 14-26% of sum of two portions, and the second one - after the completion of the ignition delay period of the first portion. Increase in efficient performance is achieved due to increase in thermal and effective efficiency by increasing the efficiency of engine thermal operating cycle.
