FIELD: test equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used for inspecting integrity long eclectic supply lines of distributed or parallel-series load, for example, cities and enterprises lighting utilities. To state the open-circuit in electric power line and to find the exact point where it happened, the measured power is compared subsequently with predetermined values of power with specified values of power for model versions of open-circuited lines. Maximal coincidence is selected which points at fact that the line is open-circuited. Identification mark of selected model version of open circuit identifies part of open-circuited line of power line of distributed load. According to the method, the only one power meter of several lines with electric load can be used.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of operation.
