SUBSTANCE: shockwave pickup comprises piezoelectric member provided electrodes whose working surface is oriented in the direction of propagation of shockwaves. The vector of polarization of piezoelectric element is parallel to its working surface. The piezoelectric element cam be made of thin plate. The working surface of the piezoelectric element is defined by the space between the two electrodes arranged in the plane of the working surface or their projections on this plane when the electrodes are arranged in the opposite plane of the piezoelement.
