FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed piston compression ring consists of two parts: metal one in form of ring element, and cement one coupled with metal part and designed for contacting with surface of cylinder liner. Friction coefficient of ceramet part is lower than that of metal part. Ceramet part is made in form pf solid ring with cross section in form of latter T turned through 90° whose outer end face surface is designed for contact with cylinder liner surface of engine and whose upper and lower side surfaces are reinforced with metal part and are made in form of ring element consisting of two steel solid rings with low temperature expansion coefficient which are designed to provide required rigidly and strength of piston ring and tightness of its fit to side surfaces of piston ring grooves. Ceramet part of piston ring with porosity of 15-30% is made of pressed and baked mixed powder of bronze graphite with addition of tin and nickel powder and impregnated with motor oil in vacuum chamber.
EFFECT: improved compression of gases in engine cylinder, simplified manufacture of piston compression rings, provision of conditions for retaining oil in pores of ceramet material, improved reliability of engine and increased efficiency of engine.
