FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for sealing of pistons of internal combustion engines and other mechanisms. Achievement of technical result is provided by that piston compression ring of internal combustion engine comprises main split piston ring installed in groove of piston, as well as additional split ring located in space concentrically with piston ring and contacting with its inner cylindrical circumferential surface with cylindrical surface of piston groove bottom, wherein the additional split ring is provided with a groove made on its surface. Besides, the slot on the additional split ring is made in the form of a rectangular recess located along the entire cylindrical circumferential surface. Main split piston ring is tightly inserted into the recess. Position of cuts on the main and additional split rings is set with respect to each other by 180°, which facilitates complete tightness of the seal.

EFFECT: improvement of gas compression in ICE cylinder with preservation of seal tightness for entire service life of rings due to use of additional split ring with rectangular recess throughout cylindrical circumferential surface, in which the main split piston ring is tightly inserted, and location on main and additional split piston rings cuts spaced relative to each other by 180°; besides, making the rings in the disclosed way simplifies the technology of making rings without changing their service life.
