FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed wheel has rim with pair of beads with peripheral potential rolling surface at least on one bead to come in contact with ground in case of destruction of tire. Convex contour of rolling surface with final radius of curvature in cross section at largest radius of wheel provides optimum form of contact surface and increased area of contact within introduction of any flat sections into contact area. Rolling surface has final radius of curvature over entire length of potential rolling surface. Radius of curvature of rolling surface forms in cross section central circular segment smoothly mating at ends with two circular segments of smaller radii, or forms in cross section a section of ellipse with smaller axis passing radially along corresponding section of ring rim.
EFFECT: reduced risk of wheel rim damage in case of tire destruction.
