FIELD: inspection of fuels.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used for inspection of qualitative condition of engine fuels used under low temperature conditions. Parameters of testing are specified and fuel is cooled down till tested fuel gets cloudy. Consumption and pressure are specified at supply of fuel through fine filter which parameters correspond to modes of operation of engine. Simultaneously fuel consumption is changed in ancillary fuel line as well as hydraulic resistance in main fuel line. Duration of fuel supply through fine filter is measured as well as values of fuel consumption and temperature drops on fine filter. Tests go on in form of subsequent cycles while keeping specified value of cooling of fuel steady. Temperature of fuel is taken as limited one of fuel supply at which temperature the difference in values of current consumption of fuel through fine filter and consumption of fuel, settled for specified mode of load of engine, exceeds admissible error in measurement. Critical temperature has to be the one at which current consumption of fuel during specified period of time reduces till limited value at which value the engine stops working at idle running. Temperature drop corresponding to critical temperature of supply has to be taken as critical pressure drop.
EFFECT: improved precision and truth of evaluation under test conditions being close to real conditions of exploitation.
