FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly protection facing strap for inner lateral surfaces of housings of rolling stands and lateral surfaces of rolling roll chocks.
SUBSTANCE: facing strap includes two layers of different metals, namely: carrying layer of low carbon non-chilled steel which adjoins to protected surface of housing or chock; and cladding layer of chilled steel. Novelty is hardness value of carrying layer surface equal to 0.8 - 0.95 of hardness value of adjoining surface of housing or chock. Hardness value of cladding layer surface is equal to 2.74 - 4.5 of hardness value of carrying layer.
EFFECT: increased useful life period of strap, of rolling rolls, elimination of damages of stand and of mutually engaged surfaces of housing and chocks, enhanced accuracy and quality of rolled strips.
