FIELD: rolled sheet production. SUBSTANCE: backup roll assembly includes roll with chocks mounted in frame of working stand. Wedge-shaped plates provided with hydraulic lever-type drive for moving them are movably mounted in struts of frame on horizontal guides. Changeable wedge-shaped curvilinear-contour plates are stationarily mounted on chocks and engage with movable plates mounted in struts of frames. It provides possibility of adjusting angular position of backup roll relative to axis of stand in plan view, its plane-parallel motion and clearance-free mounting of roll chocks in frames. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of rolling process, elongated operational life period of rolls and bearing units. 1 dwg
