FIELD: aircraft engineering; aircraft engines.
SUBSTANCE: reliable information on whether afterburner is turned on or not is required for correct functioning of automatic control devices of aircraft gas-turbine engine, checking its operation modes and reliability of operation. Proposed method of recording of ignition of fuel-air mixture in engine afterburner includes recording of electric signal from reactive gas-dynamic jet engine by means of electrostatic antenna and change of conductivity of medium at ignition of fuel-air mixture in afterburner and, basing on results of static processing of signal, conclusion is made on ignition of fuel-air mixture in engine after-burner. Recording of changes of medium conductivity determined by changes of concentration of electrons, ions, charge microparticles in gas-dynamic jet in engine is provided by electrostatic antenna installed with no contact with engine after nozzle exit section, out of the limits of reactive gas dynamic jet, amplitude of pulse signal of electrostatic field built by electrons, ions and charge microparticles present in engine jet, current dispersion δ of recorded signal is calculated and is compared with preset reference value δ* a and if calculated dispersion is reduced relative to reference value, signal is generated indicating that fuel-air mixture in afterburner is ignited. Invention provides improved efficiency and reliability of ignition control of afterburner fuel-air mixture as compared with known methods of checking.
EFFECT: improved safety of aircraft in flight.
