FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: electrostatic antennas to register pulsations of electric field induced by charged electrons, protons, micro particles existing in exhaust jet are mounted behind nozzle edge, outside the engine and its gas-dynamic jet, in engine air intake, and in compressor. Dispersion of registered signals and spectral energy is defined to define characteristic frequencies in energy spectrum of signal registered by antenna. Calculated dispersion and spectral energy is compared with reference values for every antenna. In case calculated dispersions exceed reference values and frequencies other than reference ones appear in energy spectrum, engine is considered faulty and decision is taken about in-engine faults and those caused by external factors.
