FIELD: rolled tube production, namely production of conversion tubes of low-ductile steel with boron content 1.3 -1.8%, possibly manufacture of seamless hot rolled conversion tubes in plants with pilger mills.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating drilled ingots of electroslag refining till yielding temperature; piercing them to sleeves in piercing mill; rolling tubes in pilger mill. Feed value for guiding tube in pilger mill is equal to 0.5 -0.6 of feed value of stable rolling process along length of tube equal to 1.0 -1.2 of rolling back path of feeding apparatus. Rolling-around and after- rolling steps are realized at feed value 0.6 - 0.75 along length of tube equal to 0.5 -0.75 of rolling back path of feeding apparatus.
EFFECT: lowered number of rejected pieces according to their end flaws such as cracking and fissure, reduced factor of metal consumption at conversion process of ingot of electroslag refining to conversion tube blank, lowered cost of final product - hexahedral steel tubes.
