FIELD: microbiology, biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method involves plating a symbiotic mixture of B. anthracis culture with Myxococcus xanthus cells (not eliciting the hemolytic activity in separating culturing) on Hottinger's agar containing 3-5% of human defibrinized blood. Inoculations are incubated under aerobic conditions up to appearance of hemolytic activity. The hemolytic activity is determined by hemolysis zone around the mixed population of B. anthracis culture with Myxococcus xanthus cells. Using this method allows carrying out the differentiation of pure pathogen anthrax cultures from contaminated slipping microorganisms by the hemolysis effect.
EFFECT: improved method for induction.
